Drought Tolerant Plants

Drought tolerant plants are a blessing, especially during summer. These plants thrive in hot, dry locations. Once they’re established, they need minimal care from you, which gives you more time to kick back and relax!

Drought Tolerant Plants

The following plants are all considered drought tolerant, which means they can handle being on the drier side. Of course, this doesn’t mean you won’t ever have to water them. Until your plants become established, they will need regular watering like all other plants. Once they’re established, they can go much longer without water than other, less tolerant plants, however, they will still need watering during extremely dry periods.

Annuals & Herbs

While the following plants do need to be replanted every year, they add a lot of impact to your garden and containers. Annuals bloom from when they are planted until the end of their growing season, providing months of color. They’re also great choices for containers and hanging baskets. Herbs are tasty additions to any garden, but they also provide color, texture, and scent too.
